AUDITION NOTICE FOR TOM SAWYER, THE BROADWAY MUSICAL

Open
auditions for Sun Prairie Civic Theatre's spring production of Tom Sawyer, The Broadway Musical based on the novel
by Mark Twain, written by Ken Ludwig with music and lyrics by Don Schlitz will be held on the evenings of Sunday, March 4;Monday,
March 5; and Tuesday, March 6.
There are roles for 12 to 15 boys
and girls, ages 13 to 18, and roles for 15 to 20 adults.
Persons auditioning
should come prepared with a song of approximately one minute that demonstrates their vocal ranges and skills. Any song is
acceptable, but something upbeat and peppy is recommended. Additionally those auditioning will be taught a brief dance number
to perform, and will be asked to read from the script. Please bring a brief theatre resume, along with your calendar so you
can list ALL conflicts. First read-through will be on March 9, 2012.
This is the Broadway musical version of Mark Twain's immortal novel set in 1840 in Missouri. In the course of the
story Tom matches wits with his stern Aunt Polly, falls in love with the beautiful Becky Thatcher, shares adventures with
the renegade Huckleberry Finn, and is pursued by the villainous Injun Joe. From thrilling escapes, to comedy, to inspiriation
for the whole family, we share Tom Sawyer's rollicking, heart-stopping adventures from Mark Twian's masterpiece of a boy growing
up in heartland America.
