Auditions: Our Better Angels Murder Mystery Dinner Show Sunday, Feb 9 at 6 pm Monday, Feb 10 at 7 pm Sun Prairie Civic Theatre Barn, 550 South Bird Street, Sun Prairie
Held at Buck and Honey's restaurant in Sun Prairie, this is a show for actors who enjoy going off script, improvising and interacting with the audience.
The scene for this year's dinner is the Angell Savings and Loan employee appreciation dinner. Only this won't be the typical appreciation dinner. The president of the company, Roland Angell, decided to use the gathering to announce his retirement and his successor. Will it be his trophy wife, daughter or ne'er-do-well son? And, how will this impact a secret money-laundering scheme going on in the company?
Just as things seem to be going from bad to worse, Charlie, an angel, appears and intervenes. But, when he doesn't succeed, it's obvious someone at the dinner committed murder. It's up to Charlie, with the help of the audience, to interrogate the suspects, solve the mystery and save the day.
The cast is comprised of 4 men and 4 women of various ages. One male role is for an older man. Auditions will consist of some improv games and cold reads of the script.
There will be nine rehearsals during the week. Dates to be determined.
Show dates are weeknights during the first and second week of March. No weekend shows. Exact times and dates during those weeks are yet to be finalized.
Sun Prairie Civic Theatre is a community of volunteers sharing their time and talent to educate people of all ages in the experience of live theater on stage, backstage, and in the audience
