Grant & Donor Development Manager
Compensation: $30,000
Part-Time Independent Contractor

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Sun Prairie Civic Theater (SPCT) is seeking a part-time independent contractor to serve as a Grant & Donor Development Manager. SPCT seeks to diversify income and create a more robust foundation for future programming and a future capital campaign.
This position will work with the board of directors to identify, secure, and manage grants and donations to support the theatre's mission and artistic programming. This role involves researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, building and maintaining relationships with donors, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Management:
- Identify and research grant opportunities and timing from government, foundation, and corporate sources that align with the theatre’s artistic and community engagement goals.
- Write and submit high-quality, compelling grant proposals and applications tailored to the needs and goals of the theatre including final reports for grants secured.
- Generate a grant cycle for applications.
- Maintain accurate records of all grant activities, including proposals, reports, and correspondence.
Donor Development:
- Create a donor dashboard that documents previous and potential opportunities for contributions.
- Develop lasting relationships with current and prospective donors, including individual supporters, patrons, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Plan and execute donor appeals and fundraising campaigns, including annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and special projects.
- Create and distribute regular updates and communications to donors, including newsletters, impact reports, and personalized thank-you notes.
- Develop the CRM tool to reflect a robust donor database and a dashboard documenting previous and potential contribution opportunities.
Strategic Planning:
- Submit monthly board reports to update on progress and attend meetings as needed.
- Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the theatre’s artistic vision and community impact goals.
- Analyze fundraising data and trends to inform strategic decisions and optimize fundraising efforts.
- Work closely with the board to align fundraising efforts with the theatre's needs.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to integrate fundraising strategies with the theatre’s programming and community outreach initiatives.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:
- Are experienced in grant and donor management.
- Are experienced in non-profit development.
- Display excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Have demonstrated the ability to build relationships and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Are proficient in fundraising databases and CRM software (SPCT uses VBO)
- Showcase strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strategically support future foundational planning for long-term development success.
- Have a working understanding of the donor landscape in our geographical region.
- Passion and experience in theatre are a plus.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Help develop a standard series of cultivation, stewardship and acknowledgement steps for current and future donations.
- Create a donor dashboard that reflects past, present, and future donors, both individual and corporate.
- Create at least 2 new donor initiatives (mailing campaigns, match campaigns, etc.).
- Create a grant cycle calendar based on relevant and available grants.
- Develop an actionable plan for future development growth that volunteers can support.
- Projections & estimates for attainable goals for the next 1, 3, and 5 years.
